About

Sprinks Farm and the surrounding areas have been connected with deer and hunting for centuries.

Local areas such as Damsgate (first mentioned in 1445) and Buckstall (1476), hint at deer keeping. By 1665, the tenant of the farm was required to keep a hound, greyhound or spaniel for the owner (Francis Biddulph), to use in hunting.

In 2017, we took over the farm and immediately began a programme of investment and renovation. The farm buildings are in the process of being modernised, while using local materials and traditional methods – for example, recycling materials from our derelict pig styes into new buildings.

Today we aim to maintain a link with local history, while building a sustainable and diverse ecology within our farm. Of the 88 acres – that’s over 1,400 tennis courts – the pasture and woodlands are largely dedicated to deer, with the deer able to roam free within the park. We have two herds of deer, red and fallow, which produce venison for sale.

Visit

There are several opportunities to visit Sprinks Farm. We welcome walkers onto the footpaths across the farm; from these you can often see the deer and there are opportunities to spot some of the local wildlife.
